Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website located at pinetreeshilling.com (the "Site"), operated by Pine Tree Shilling Publishing Corporation ("PTSPC," "we," "us," or "our"), a corporation with a registered address at 6 Liberty Square #2540, Boston, MA 02109. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
2. Description of Service
The Site is an informational and editorial platform used to showcase books published by PTSPC. Paperback and hardcover copies may be purchased directly through the Site using a secure checkout hosted by Stripe, Inc. ("Stripe"), and shipped by PTSPC from its own physical inventory. Some editions, including the Kindle eBook, are instead sold through third-party retailers.
3. Direct Purchases and Purchases Through Third-Party Retailers
Paperback and hardcover copies bought through the "Buy" button on this Site are sold directly by PTSPC. Payment is collected securely by Stripe; PTSPC does not receive or store your full card details. Title to the book passes to you, and PTSPC is responsible for shipping the book, once payment is confirmed.
Other editions, including the Kindle eBook, are offered through Amazon.com, Inc. and its affiliates ("Amazon") and, where noted, other third-party retail partners (collectively, "Retail Partners"). When you click a "View on Amazon" or similar link, you will be directed off this Site to complete your purchase directly with the Retail Partner. Any contract of sale formed through a Retail Partner is solely between you and that Retail Partner; PTSPC is not a party to that transaction, and pricing, taxes, shipping, and fulfillment for that purchase are governed by the Retail Partner's own policies, not by these Terms.
4. Intellectual Property
All text, graphics, logos, cover art, and other content on the Site, other than content owned by third parties, are the property of PTSPC or its authors and are protected by U.S. and international copyright and trademark laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written consent, except for personal, non-commercial use such as sharing a link to a book page.
5. Manuscript Submissions
PTSPC periodically accepts manuscript submissions from prospective authors via the Connect page or by email. Submitting a manuscript does not create any obligation on PTSPC's part to review, respond to, publish, or compensate the submitting party, and does not create any publishing, agency, or employment relationship unless and until a separate written publishing agreement is executed by both parties.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PTSPC and its officers, directors, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the Site or any purchase made through a Retail Partner, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
8. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Suffolk County, Massachusetts.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Privacy Policy
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you voluntarily provide when you use the contact form, submit a manuscript inquiry, or subscribe to our reading list. This may include your name, email address, and the contents of your message. When you buy a paperback or hardcover copy directly through the Site, your payment is processed by Stripe, and we receive only the information necessary to ship and confirm your order, such as your name, email address, shipping address, and phone number. We do not receive or store your full card number.
2. How We Use Information
- To respond to your inquiries or submission requests
- To send you newsletter updates you have opted into, such as new title announcements
- To maintain records of correspondence for our own administrative purposes
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.
3. Third-Party Services
Our contact and newsletter forms are processed using a third-party form relay service, which transmits submitted information to us by email. Direct paperback and hardcover purchases are processed using Stripe's hosted checkout, governed by Stripe's own privacy policy. If you complete a purchase through Amazon or another Retail Partner instead, that transaction and any data collected during it are governed entirely by that Retail Partner's own privacy policy, which we encourage you to review before purchasing.
4. Cookies and Tracking
This Site does not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, or third-party analytics that build a profile of individual visitors. Font and stylesheet resources may be loaded from third-party content delivery networks (such as Google Fonts and Fontshare) solely for display purposes.
5. Data Retention and Security
We retain contact and newsletter information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, or until you ask us to delete it. We take reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect the information you share with us, though no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure.
6. Your Rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information you have provided to us, or unsubscribe from our newsletter at any time, by emailing dmitry@pinetreeshilling.com.
7. Children's Privacy
This Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above.
Return & Refund Policy
1. Direct Purchases (Paperback & Hardcover)
Paperback and hardcover copies bought directly through this Site are sold and shipped by PTSPC from our own inventory. If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, or does not arrive at all, contact us at dmitry@pinetreeshilling.com with your order details. We will work with you to make it right, which may include a replacement or refund at our discretion.
2. Purchases Through Our Retail Partners
Copies of our books purchased through Amazon or another Retail Partner, rather than directly through this Site, are transacted and fulfilled entirely by that Retail Partner. All returns, exchanges, refunds, and order cancellations for those purchases are handled exclusively by the Retail Partner under its own policies (for Amazon orders, typically through Amazon's "Your Orders" page and its A-to-z Guarantee).
3. Kindle / eBook Orders
Digital editions are sold and delivered by Amazon. Refund requests for Kindle eBook purchases are handled under Amazon's own digital content refund policy, generally accessible through your Amazon account's order history.
4. Content or Website Issues
If you believe you've found a factual error, printing issue specific to how a book is described on our Site, or a problem with the Site itself, please let us know at dmitry@pinetreeshilling.com. While we cannot process refunds directly, we're glad to help point you to the right place with your Retail Partner or correct information on our end.
